How it is made:
- Hinges. Blum soft-close hinges. Every door closes quietly.
- Dovetailed maple drawers. Maple drawer boxes, dovetailed at the corners, on Salice full-extension slides that open all the way. Blum drawer boxes on request.
- Your wood, your color. Walnut or white oak, stained, or painted in any color. Other species on request. Finished with Renner, an Italian high-end coating.
- ¾-inch box. Plywood or melamine (Tafisa or another established brand), ¾ inch throughout.
- ¾-inch back. The back is ¾ inch too, like the sides and bottom.
- Toe kick. Set back at the base, so you can stand close to the counter.

How a project works
- The visit. We measure the room, hear what you want and answer your questions. Your first visit and consultation are free.
- Your estimate. A written estimate follows the visit.
- The design package. If the estimate fits your plans: drawings and the final price. One major revision is included.
- The build. In our Spring Grove shop, roughly 6 to 8 weeks from signed drawings for an average kitchen.
- Installation. Usually 1 to 3 days for a full kitchen, with a written 1-year workmanship warranty from the install date.

Da Vinci Woodwork is a small, family-owned custom cabinetry, millwork and kitchen remodeling company in Spring Grove, Illinois. We design, build in our own shop and install custom kitchens, built-ins, closets, vanities, architectural millwork, trim and stairs for homeowners, general contractors, interior designers, developers and architects across McHenry, Lake, Kane, DuPage and Cook counties.
Opened in 2022, backed by more than 30 years of building and installing cabinets. When the project calls for it, we design with you, then build in our shop and install on site, with the same care in your room as in our shop. Every cabinet door is made in our shop, and every job in our project photos was installed by us.

Shop drawings, fabrication and installation for the trade
We take on the shop drawings, the fabrication and the install coordination, so your schedule has one accountable millwork partner and one contact. The written proposal says who measures, approves, delivers and installs. We price each project from your drawings and specs, and we also build select commercial millwork and casework, like the commercial lobby millwork in Evanston.

Questions about custom cabinets
Do you do kitchen remodels?
Yes. We design, build and install the cabinets, the island, the pantry and the trim, and we can run your whole kitchen remodel as your general contractor. Tell us what is changing in the room, and we will plan the job with you at the visit.
How much do custom cabinets cost?
It depends on how many cabinets there are, the materials and finish, the door style and how much goes inside them. Send us photos of your room, the style and finish you have in mind, and your list of ideas, and we can give you a ballpark range before we visit. How long do custom cabinets take?
A kitchen usually takes about 6 to 8 weeks from signed drawings to delivery. Built-ins, closets and millwork usually take 4 to 6 weeks from signed drawings, sometimes less. A full kitchen installs in 1 to 3 days. Detail, materials and how busy the shop is can move these, so with the signed drawings we give you an estimated delivery window.

Your first visit and consultation are free: we come to your house, measure the room and listen to what you want, then send you a written estimate. Photos of the room are welcome before the visit.
Do I need a general contractor?
Not always. Homeowners come to us directly for cabinets, built-ins and trim. For new cabinets in the same layout, usually not. If the room itself is changing, we can run your whole kitchen remodel as your general contractor, or work alongside the contractor you already have.
Do you work with general contractors, interior designers and architects?
Yes. We work with homeowners, general contractors, interior designers, developers and architects. We price trade work project by project from your drawings, and we install it or deliver it to your own crew. For general contractors
What does the design package include?
The detailed measuring and drawings for your approval: a 2D layout, 3D renderings or both. It also gives the cabinet, material and finish direction, a written scope, one major revision and the final price. It is paid before the drawings start and counts toward your deposit. If you move forward with Da Vinci Woodwork within 90 days on substantially the same project, the full design-package fee is credited toward your contracted work.
What hardware and finish do you use?
Blum soft-close hinges, so every door closes quietly, and Salice full-extension drawer slides, so each drawer opens all the way. Drawer boxes are dovetailed maple, or Blum boxes if you prefer. Cabinet boxes are 3/4-inch plywood or melamine (Tafisa or another established brand), back included, and the finish is Renner, an Italian high-end coating.
What warranty do you offer?
Our workmanship (fit, joinery and finish) is covered by a written 1-year warranty from the install date, for cabinets, trim and stairs. Hardware carries its maker's own warranty.
